America's Best Dance Crew receives season 7 pickup!

MTV announced Friday at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour that America’s Best Dance Crew has been renewed for a seventh season.

David Janollari, the music cabler’s EVP of Scripted Development, boasted to a room full of journos that while it’s much too early to reveal any Season 7 secrets, the reality competition series will certainly aim to top last year’s game-changing outing.

ABDC — executive-produced by American Idol dawg Randy Jackson — recently wrapped production on a successful sixth season, which featured pole-dancers, new judge (and former contestant) Dominic “D-Trix” Sandoval, and the series’ first-ever superstar-themed weeks. Justin Bieber, The Black Eyed Peas, Katy Perry, and Kanye West were among the special guest mentors to appear. [source]

This time, he joined Matt Morrison during his concert in London, UK on the 13th. They performed "This I promise you" together after one of Matt's best friends proposed to his girlfriend on stage. Afterwards, JC performed Journey's "Don't stop believing" all on his own and got the crowd on its feet!

J.C. Chasez has worn a lot of hats throughout his 15 year career -- pop superstar, actor, reality show judge, producer ... and that doesn't even begin to cover the terrible toppers J.C. literally donned during his N'Sync days. Now he's slipping the songwriter hat back on to help out with Matthew Morrison's debut CD.

Turns out the gig wasn't that hard to come by since J.C. and Matthew are good friends -- but what started out as casually advice evolved into J.C. taking on a much more official role as he co-wrote two of the disc's ten tracks.

In addition to that, J.C. also has the season finale of "America's Best Dance Crew" approaching -- an episode that promises to be the most competitive yet. Or at least that's the impression I got while chatting with the multi-hyphenate ... who plans to remove one of those professional hats from his career closet for good.

PopWrap: I know you and Matthew are good friends -- was that how you ended up collaborating on his debut CD?
JC Chasez: Yea, it was very nonchalant. The easy part is we were friends first, so every now and then he’d ask a few questions about entering music and starting up songwriting. Because essentially, when you first start writing you find out that everyone’s method is different. That just developed into the studio to see what came of it.

PW: How do you describe the song you wrote for his album, “Hey?”
JC: For me it’s fun and quirky. We were looking to do a song about the obvious but in a playful and kind of clever way. In the end, it came to us pretty easily.

PW: You're in very good company on this album -- Sting, Elton John, Gwyneth Paltrow and Kris Allen are all involved -- it seems like Matt spared no expense, huh?
JC: It wasn’t really about cost – it was about getting to work with the people Matt wanted to work with. He reached out to the people he found interesting or fun, he made the record he wanted to make, which is a very fortunate place for an artist to be in. He didn’t have to play ball – he could essentially make the kind of record he wanted to make.

I stink at making graphics/headers*lol* but I had to do something for JuC Day this year!, I feel like I've been a fan of those two all my life. I basically grew up along side of them, watching them become the fantastic men they are now. My love and devotion for them has never wavered either!, the respect I have for Josh and Justin has no boundaries. Love you boys!.

JC Chasez seems to be a magnet for crime -- TMZ has learned the former boy-bander called the cops yesterday after someone broke into his car and stole a bunch of stuff.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... Chasez was getting ready to leave his Hollywood Hills home Wednesday morning, when he noticed someone had taken $150 in cash and 2 pairs of designer sunglasses from his 2005 Mercedes SLS.

Chasez filed a police report -- and told cops he has surveillance cameras on his property that may have captured the incident.

It's the third time Chasez's had a brush with crime in the past 6 months -- back in November, Chasez scared off an intruder who was trying to break into his home. And days before that, someone successfully jacked thousands of dollars worth of music equipment from the property.

It's hard to believe it's been this long but on this day, seven years ago, JC's debut album "Schizophrenic" was (finally!) released.

So we thought we would put together a few things from that very day to celebrate. First up, JC apppeared on "on air with Ryan Seacrest" that produced such gems as "is JC married?" and "can Paris Hilton sing?". He also performed "Some Girls"

Why not play the album on repeat all day? Maybe you could request a song on your local radio station? Or maybe the time has come to replace your copy or introduce a friend to an album that is still all kinds of amazing seven years on. In that case, you could check ITunes or Amazon.
